Civil Defence Day was a lot of fun this year. The day consisted of a range of activities where the students learnt about how to be prepared for a disaster. Most of the learning stations were highly practical. The teachers ran stations for first aid, survival cooking, preparing disaster kits, awareness of community areas that can help in a disaster, and discussing disaster preparedness in areas around the world after watching video clips of disasters and the clean up efforts. We were very fortunate to have a couple of Civil Defence representatives who ran a disasters board game in the hall where students needed to answer questions to move from space to space. Thank you for your support! To end the day the whole school were treated to a 'survival lunch'. Many tins of baked beans and spaghetti were opened that day!
Below is a book prepared by some of our junior school to show what they learnt.
The extra big board game that we could walk on!
